Send a new batch of postcards every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!
We are doing this not only to keep ground-breaking gay supercouple Kyle and Oliver on "One Life to Live", but also in support of gay representation in the media in general. We would like ABC Daytime to continue to strive for diversity and equality in their programming.

F4K Money Donated to the Center!

All remaing money from the Fish4Kish campaign was donated to NYC's the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.  In response to our donation we received a note saying, "Thank you for your generous contribution....  It means so much to have you support the important work we do to nurture, heal, build and celebrate our community."  Additionally, Brian Frons and Frank Valentini received a note explaining why we made this donation.

F4K Shout-out on OLTL?

Hey guys. Guess what type of candy Oliver Fish's old boss Bo Buchanan was in the mood for during the April 27 episode of One Life to Live? SWEDISH FISH! Think this could have been a shout-out to us Kish fans? Our Fish4Kish campaign was up and running when this episode was probably taped...

Scott and Brett Say Thanks

"People wrote letters, held protests, Save Kish, there's blogs, and rallies, and it's just like awesome. Awesome! The thought that I touched people in that way by doing this story is incredible." - Scott Evans

"Just wanna say, to the fans, to the ones that we affected, to the ones we represented, to the ones who supported us, to the ones that cared, to all of you who believe in unconditional love, thank you. Our story was for nobody but you, and meant nothing without you." - Brett Claywell

RALLY FRIDAY!

RALLY
Friday, March 26, 6:30AM
Good Morning America Times Square Studio, NYC
More info * Facebook event page
(let us know there if you'll be attending!)

Hey guys, so tomorrow’s the big day! I hope everyone’s excited about the BGR to support Kish and diversity. The press has been great helping us get the word out, as has the Kish Army, so be proud of yourselves!

I just want all of you to know, that the rally will be happening tomorrow, Friday, March 26—come rain or shine. I know a lot of you are going to try and get there for 6:30am, but once again, if anyone can get there earlier that would be great.

For those of you who are bringing homemade signs and shirts just remember to keep it Kish, keep it simple, and keep it positive. As soon this thing takes a negative tone we will be dismissed.

Also, for anyone who has a Twitter account, make sure to put #KISH in all of your posts, especially during Good Morning America (7-9am EST). That also goes for anyone attending the rally as well. We want to live-tweet our efforts, and hopefully get #KISH trending!

I’m not sure how much I’m going to be getting online, but should anyone need to reach me, I will be able to check my Twitter account (@JennaMichelle29 ) on my phone often.

Fish4Kish

Fish4Kish

From our fearless leader, Jenna Michelle:

Fish4Kish, our new campaign to show support for Kyle and Oliver, is based on the "Jericho" fan campaign ("NUTS") that convinced CBS to create a second season of that show. We want to encourage all of you to start sending in Swedish Fish gummy candies (or whatever kind of gummy Fish candy you have where you are). Most importantly, we also need monetary donations to our newly set-up PayPal account (which will be run by the lovely Georgiesmith from Kishmet). We will use donations to purchase large quantities of Swedish Fish and then send a bunch to Robert Iger one day in LA and then another large batch to Frank Valentini in NYC. With the bulk-sendage, we will make a strong impact.

Please contribute to this new effort any way you can. Any amount of money donated will really add up. If you'd rather send fish on your own, be sure to write “Fish4Kish” on the envelopes and send them to:

Mr. Brian Scott Frons
President, Daytime
Disney-ABC Television Group
ABC, Inc.
500 S. Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521

Mr. Frank Valentini
Executive Producer, One Life to Live
ABC Daytime
320 West 66th Street
New York, NY 10023

If we all do our part, Fish4Kish will be a huge success. This is based on the Jericho fan campaign guys, it is still the most successful fan campaign ever. I am in contact with Shaun Daily, the man behind NUTS, and he supports and has faith in us. He thinks if we follow this Fish4Kish plan, we will be successful. And hopefully, after TPTB receive our Kish fish, they will donate them to a children’s hospital or food shelter.

Remember: TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. We need to act NOW to save our guys!

Thank you and good luck!
- Jenna Michelle/Glamgurl29

What will your donation buy?
We're still searching around for the best deal on fishies. The best prices we have right now:
$12.85 for 5 pounds of candy fish
$72.90 for 30 pounds of candy fish
So it really doesn't take much money at all to have an impact!

(Or login to PayPal and send your donation to savekish@raspberryworld.net)

Donations will be used to purchase candy fish or pay for shipping and handling on the fish. Any donations that are not used for this campaign will be given to charity. Money will not be refunded if the campaign is unsuccessful, as we will have already spent the money on the fish.

After clicking the button above, you should be brought here:

Enter your donation amount and click Update Total, then log in. You'll be brought to a confirmation page. Review your info, click the Donate button, and you're done! It will show up on your credit card statement as SAVEKISH. If you need help creating a Paypal account, let us know!

Any questions, concerns, or advice can be sent here. We'll keep you updated on how much has been donated!

Join the Fish4Kish Facebook page and RSVP "attending" if you'll be participating

Thank Brett and Scott!

The lovely j.U.d.E. from Kishmet is gathering messages from fans to make a "Thank you!" album for each of the guys. Scott will be presented with his at the Gays of Our Lives event next weekend, so j.U.d.E. needs to hear from you NOW if you want to be included! Messages can include pictures but must be no larger than 4"x6" or they will not be included in the album. Get more information in the For Scott and Brett thread at Kishmet. If you are not a member, you can email j.U.d.E. here. Let's show these guys how much we love them.

How to Schedule All of Your Postcard Mailings at Once

Login to Premium Postcard and create your card. Once you've finished, go to Mailing History, click View next to the batch you'd like to resend, then click Send Again. You can change anything about the card, including recipients. Schedule it for the next Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. Repeat until you're out of cards.

Please add Robert Iger to any mailings you've already scheduled!

Remember to send your free 5.5x8.5 cards, too! The HQ pictures here work for those cards.

(Big thanks to commenter Jodie for pointing out the scheduling option!)

The "ABC, We're Gay Free" Boogie

PrattFalls, two awesome Breese (Bianca/Reese from AMC) fans, have joined the SaveKish fight on Twitter, and they posted this video on Youtube:

It's absolutely hilarious! Thanks for the laughs :)

And another brilliant vid, by luke75b at Kishmet:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=antkwVg6w5c

"Who's Kish? Is she the old broad who's always crazy or the old broad who's only sometimes crazy?"

Send 50 Kish postcards - for FREE!

The magnificent Bittersweetlily at Kishmet found a promo code for 50 FREE POSTCARDS when you create a new account at Premium Postcard! Just put USPS09 in the promo code box after you enter your address but before you click "sign up". The free cards will automatically be added to your account.

Premium Postcard is affiliated with the USPS and is a quick and easy way to get these cards out fast. Upload an image, add your message, and the cards are mailed out to our targets the next business day.

When you use this service, use only these Kish images:
http://www.23hq.com/dontputkishinthecloset
(backup) http://www.23hq.com/smuchshypush

Just click on the photo you want, then click it again to get to the full-size image, then save that. They're ginormous HQ, and we know for sure that they will print well using the PP service, whereas the previously posted cards might not. There are four basic pictures, and using the Premium Postcard website, you can add any text you want to the front and back. Super customizable! You can send the same postcard to all of our contacts at once, and you can easily schedule future mailings.

If you've already sent your postcards on the Premium Postcard site using the old photos: For the next batch of cards you send, use these new photos until we can check the printed quality of the old ones.

If you're printing out the photos yourself: You can still use any of the uploaded pictures. They should look fine from a home printer.

Let's get sending, folks!

Media Contact Information

Let's spread this story! Take a second to shoot an email to these media outlets. Easy-to-copy list after the jump:

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Action: NOW! Let the Mailing Begin!

Because we just can't wait any longer.

LET THE MAILING BEGIN!

You should send one to each of the four contacts ASAP. We will be conducting these mailings in waves, hitting them all with new postcards every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. No letting up! But more on that later. TODAY:

1. Print your four favorite postcards. Refer to the diagrams at this site to see where you should and should not write on your cards. Not following those instructions could result in your postcard being returned, so please check it out!

2. Write a message to each of these people:

Mr. Brian Scott Frons
President, Daytime
Disney-ABC Television Group
ABC, Inc.
500 S. Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521

Ms. Anne Sweeney
Co-Chairman, Disney Media Networks
President, Disney/ABC Television Group
ABC, Inc.
500 South Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521

Mr. Frank Valentini
Executive Producer, One Life to Live
ABC Daytime
320 West 66th Street
New York, NY 10023

Mr. Ron Carlivati
Head Writer, One Life to Live
ABC Daytime
320 West 66th Street
New York, NY 10023

Remember:
- Be respectful. We're all upset, but try not to name-call, swear, etc. If there is a chance to save the guys, we don't want to anger the people who have control over that decision.

- End your message with your name, age, and where you live. Especially if you're a woman 18-49, because that's the big soap demo. The "mainstream" demo.

- If you'd like to let them know you're part of the campaign, just write "Don't Put Kish in the Closet" somewhere on your card.

3. Stamp and send! If you feel your postcard is a bit flimsy, just stick it in an envelope with a regular, non-postcard stamp.

***

Another great way to create and mail your postcards is the USPS-affiliated and super-easy Premium Postcard site. If you try it (and you should!),  please use only these HQ Kish images:

http://www.23hq.com/dontputkishinthecloset
(backup) http://www.23hq.com/smuchshypush

We can't confirm yet that the previously posted cards will print out from this service with the correct quality, so only use the images at the links above, please! You can add any text you want to the front and the back at the PP site.
(UPDATE: The magnificent bittersweetlily found a promo code for 50 FREE POSTCARDS when you create a new account! That's a whole lotta protestin'! When you sign up, just put USPS09 in the promo code box after you enter your address but before you click "sign up". The free cards will automatically be added to your account. THIS IS AMAZING, GUYS. Bombard them!)

***

Don't like our cards? Make or buy some of your own! Postcards with the name of your city on them are a great way to show the people in charge exactly where their viewers are.

We're going for volume. Send letters, cards, anything you can stick a stamp on. Spread this information around Twitter and Facebook. Recruit your friends and family. Let us know in the comments how much you've managed to send! And check back here for updates and new campaigns.

We can really make a difference here, folks. Our calls and emails so far have already had an effect. Let's show them how we fight!

***

"Seriously. They are listening."

From someone in the know:

"Guys, keep up the pressure. You don't know the effect you're having. Seriously. They are listening. Keep it going. There are people fighting behind the scenes to bring them back so we have to do what we can."

All of the calls and emails are already having an effect, and we've got supporters on the inside. Imagine what we can do when we kick these campaigns into high gear.

***

Already called? Do it again! Use our handy shortcut to leave a voicemail in less than a minute.

Already emailed? Do that again, too! Takes no time at all.

Write your letters, notes, postcards, anything, and mail them to these people and anyone else you can think of who might be able to help.

KEEP GOING!

Kish Rally on Good Morning America

This is gonna be huge, folks! Contact Jenna for more info, or check out the Facebook event page.

Kish Rally
Friday, March 26, 2010
Good Morning America Times Square Studio
1500 Broadway
New York City, New York 10036,
at 44th street

GMA tapes 7-9am. I’d like us to start meeting at 6:30 at least. If you can get there earlier, that would be better, to make sure we get a good spot.

Make signs, wear KISH t-shirts, but keep everything simple, and nothing insulting or offensive. Simple plain shirts or poster board with just “KISH” would be enough, but if you have a catchy slogan you want to use or anything, go for it. Websites can NOT be on signs, as per GMA rules.

I’ve also requested audience tickets. We could possibly get 10, but I don’t know about that yet. If we can get in at all, know that you can’t have large bags, be wearing anything with company logos, and you must have I.D.

For more information visit the Kishmet board (I’m glamgurl29 there), or contact me on Twitter at @JennaMichelle29, or Facebook under Jenna Michelle.

Spread the word about the rally to support KISH!!! And I hope to see many fellow Kishers there!
Will You Be There?
HELL YEAH!
No, but I'll donate to Fish4Kish instead!

Don't Put Kish in the Closet

Welcome, fellow Kish-ers!

In response to the shameful way ABC Daytime is treating Kish, Brett, and Scott, we're starting the "Don't Put Kish in the Closet" Campaign.

The Plan

Mail a ton of postcards on specific days to the people who were involved in this decision. Those people are:

Mr. Brian Scott Frons
President, Daytime
Disney-ABC Television Group

Ms. Anne Sweeney
Co-Chairman, Disney Media Networks
President, Disney-ABC Television Group

Mr. Frank Valentini
Executive Producer, One Life to Live

Mr. Ron Carlivati
Head Writer, One Life to Live

We'll also hit the soap mags. If anyone has any other suggestions for people to contact, let us know!

The Cards

The postcards can be found HERE and HERE and HERE.

If there's something specific you want, please let us know and we'll make it for you! If anyone wants to chip in their own graphics, go for it! Just crop it to the standard 6x4 inch postcard size. If it's easier for you to write a letter, or send a postcard from your hometown, or whatever, do that. It's most important just to write, write, write.

To send these, just print onto cardstock or other stiff paper, stamp, and mail. They should print out at 6x4 inches, perfect postcard size, but let us know if they don't.

OR

Use the USPS postcard service. Upload any photo, tell them who you want it sent to, and they'll send it out the next business day. Best of all, your first postcard is FREE! And each postcard after that is only $1.25.

http://www.usps.com/createmail/premiumpostcard.htm

The Guidelines

1. Be respectful. I know we're all upset, but try not to name call, swear, etc. If there is a chance to save the guys, we don't want to anger the people who have control over that.

2. End your message with your first name, age, and where you live. Especially if you're a woman 18-49, because that's the big soap demo. The "mainstream" demo.

3. If you'd like to let them know you're part of the campaign, just write "Don't Put Kish in the Closet" somewhere on your card.

The Goal

Honestly, we're conflicted. Do we even want the guys to go back to a show that dismissed them so horribly? But we're sticking with the "Don't Put Kish in the Closet" theme. Even if it doesn't get the guys back, it gets across how upset we are about the de-gaying of Llanview, and hopefully gives TPTB a hint about just how damn awful their decision was. Handwritten and mailed items carry more weight because they take more time to create, and we want TPTB to see how serious we are about this. But of course, keep up the emails and phone calls. Bombard them!

***

Comments, critiques, suggestions, questions, everything welcome! We've never done this before, and we want it to be as effective as possible. Thanks for your patience as we figure it all out. So glad we're all passionate about doing something.
